ArtsRichmond Young Writer's Award 2013 - Little Star Writer Finalists (and winner!)

On Sunday 3rd March 2013, eighteen talented writers travelled from all over the Richmond borough and gathered in the Orange Tree Theatre, waiting to hear who would win the Arts Richmond Young Writer Awards.

With talks from Anne Sebba, the President of Arts Richmond and Chair of the Society of Authors, prizes donated by Axel Scheffler, illustrator of The Gruffalo, and certificates awarded by The Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, it was an afternoon filled with extraordinary talent and an appreciation for incredible writing.

Little Star Writing had not one, but two shortlisted entries in the youngest age range - Serena from Nelson Primary School, and Kyra from Trafalgar Junior School (pictured below receiving their certificates).

We are also very pleased to announce Kyra as the year 3-4 WINNER of the Arts Richmond Young Writers Award. Kyra’s poem, ‘The Protective Rainbow’, won over the judges with it’s descriptive style and beautiful imagery. Congratulations to Kyra and Serena - two 8-year-old Little Star Writers who are sure to be the best-selling authors of the future.
